"The Talk" with Dr. Sonny Kelly

“The Talk is a dynamic one man show that includes a performance by one person portraying over 20 characters. Dr. Kelly brings images, sound, and literature closing with an impactful conversation with the audience. “The Talk” is for you – For Every Demographic!  “The Talk” is about people being marginalized striving to be humanized – striving to matter – to matter to each other. Dr. Sonny Kelly is a world class teacher, storyteller, motivator, speaker, actor, and comedian. His passion for engaging, educating, energizing, and empowering others is unmistakable.

More about Dr. Sonny Kelly:

Dr. Sonny Kelly is a world class performer, story teller, motivator, speaker, and comedian. He holds a PhD in Communication & Performance Studies from UNC Chapel Hill (2020). Sonny is also a graduate of St. Mary’s University (MA, Communication Studies, 2008) and Stanford University (BA, International Relations, 1998). After serving our nation as a U.S. Air Force officer, Dr. Kelly has gone on to serve as non-profit organization director, university admissions counselor, award winning pharmaceutical salesman, college communications instructor, and a church youth pastor. As a lover of theater and performance, Dr. Kelly has acted professionally on stage and television for over 20 years. Dr. Kelly is also the writer and director of a one-man performance called The Talk through which he connects diverse communities to critical and connective conversations around race and difference across America. Currently, Dr. Kelly is an instructor of communication at Fayetteville Technical Community College in Fayetteville, NC. No matter where he is, or what he is doing, Dr. Kelly’s passion for teaching, engaging and empowering others through love is unmistakable!
