Ethics and Technological Futures

The talks are scheduled for last Tuesday of each month at 4pm-5pm starting in February. 

Sarah Myers West, Postdoctoral Researcher at the AI Now Institute presenting on Discriminating Systems: Gender, Race and Power in Artificial Intelligence, February 25, 4-5pm, TSRB Auditorium. 

Charlton McIlwain, Professor of Media, Culture, and Communication at NYU, "Dreams of (Black) Tech Futures Past," presenting on his latest book titled Black Software (2019), March 31, 4-5pm, TSRB Auditorium.  

Neda Atanasoski, Professor of Feminist Studies and Critical Race and Ethnic Studies at UC Santa Cruz. "The Speculative Futures of Robot Ethics: Killer Robots, Sex Robots, and the Limits of the Ban," presenting on her latest book titled Surrogate Humanity (2019), April 28, Clary Theatre, Student Success Center.
