Impact Presents: "Sustainability at the World's Busiest Airport"

Come join us for an empowering talk, "Sustainability at the World's Busiest Airport," from Polly Sattler, Senior Sustainability and Resilience Planner for Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.

Polly Sattler has a Master’s in Environmental and Resource Policy from George Washington University in DC. She is a Senior Sustainability and Resilience Planner for Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Her work includes managing the airport’s Employee Commuter program, AERO, implementing Green Infrastructure to manage stormwater runoff, developing a Green Purchasing Plan and identifying opportunities for alternative fuel use at the airport. Polly recently initiated the launch of the Change the Course program for the airport which will restore water to the Flint River and other watersheds around the country.

Before working for the airport, Polly worked with social venture funds to promote sustainable economic development opportunities and initiated Sustainable Business Day at the Georgia State Capitol. She also worked with the Georgia Municipal Association’s Green Communities Loan Fund and provided advice to small and local businesses on implementing energy efficient technologies using low interest loan dollars.

Polly was the Founder and Executive Director of a nonprofit organization, GreenPlate that promoted the use of bio-degradable take-out products in restaurants to reduce the use of disposable plastic. She is committed to sustainability and environmental advocacy and has worked with Southface Energy Institute on sustainable building practices, The Clean Air Campaign to promote carpooling, Earth Share of Georgia and lobbied on environmental issues at the State Legislature on behalf of Georgia Conservation Voters. She currently serves as Board Chair of the Flint Riverkeeper and on the board of Earth Share of Georgia.

About the Impact Speaker Series:

Since 2002, the Impact Speaker Series has brought highly successful business leaders from a variety of industries to campus to share their experiences and give advice to students and other entrepreneurs on topics ranging from "building a venture around intellectual capital" to "successful entrepreneurship in large organizations" and "socially responsible leadership." The weekly series provides Georgia Tech students, alumni and the Atlanta business community an opportunity to network and learn from successful entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and notable business and non-profit leaders. The lecture series is sponsored by the Institute for Leadership and Entrepreneurship.

The series is free and open to the public. Reservations are not required.
