ACTUALIZING THE DREAM: THE ROLE OF HIP-HOP IN POLITICAL PROTEST

Actualizing the Dream: The Role of Hip-Hop in Political Protest will feature award-winning author and professor Dr. Bettina Love discussing the origin of hip-hop and its role in activism of the past and present in our society. At the conclusion of Dr. Love’s presentation, members of Georgia Tech’s hip-hop community will have an exhibition performance to demonstrate what makes this genre more than just a beat, but a true international movement. This program is sponsored by the Department of Housing and Office of Student Diversity Programs.
